On an employee's last working day, Indian HRM disables the Entra ID account, revokes sessions, and blocks mailbox sign-in so access ends when they do.

Setup in four steps

1. Connect your Microsoft tenant — An IT admin signs in from Indian HRM Settings and grants consent to the Microsoft 365 app, which takes about two minutes.
2. Map fields and domains — Match Indian HRM fields (department, designation, manager, work email domain) to their Entra ID equivalents, or accept the defaults we suggest.
3. Pick sync direction and scope — Choose which business units sync, whether provisioning is one-way or two-way, and which events push to Teams and Outlook.
4. Run a dry sync and review — Trigger a test run against a single business unit, check the preview of accounts to be created or updated, then approve it.
5. Turn on live sync — Switch the connection live and let Indian HRM keep both systems current on the schedule you set.

Microsoft 365 integration FAQs

Which direction does the sync run?

Both. Indian HRM is the source of truth for hiring, exits, and org structure, so those push to Microsoft 365. Profile edits made in Entra ID (like a corrected phone number or job title) flow back to the HR record. You decide per field which side wins if both change.

How often does it sync?

Provisioning and offboarding fire in near real time, usually within a minute of the event in Indian HRM. Profile and calendar updates run on a scheduled sweep every 15 minutes by default, and you can tighten or loosen that in Settings.

What does setup need from our IT team?

A Microsoft 365 global admin (or an admin with application and user-management rights) grants one-time consent to our Entra ID app. No PowerShell scripts, no on-prem connector. Most teams finish the connect-and-map step in under 15 minutes.

What happens when a sync fails?

Failed records (a duplicate UPN, a licence shortage, a locked mailbox) are held in a retry queue and shown on the integration dashboard with the exact error. We retry automatically with backoff, and the admin gets an email plus a Teams alert if a record still fails after three attempts. Nothing is silently dropped.

Do we need a specific Microsoft 365 plan?

Any Business or Enterprise plan with Entra ID works, including Business Basic. Auto-provisioning consumes a licence per new user, so keep a few spare seats if you hire in bursts. SSO and calendar sync work on every paid tier.
