Fingerprint terminals from eSSL, ZKTeco, and Realtime connect directly: punch logs pull every minute and reconcile against the shift roster, with no SD-card uploads and no manual exports. Face recognition runs through the mobile app as selfie verification paired with GPS coordinates, useful for staff who never come to a fixed office. Turn on the selfie requirement and every mobile punch saves a photo against the attendance record, a visual audit trail without buying new hardware.
Beyond fingerprint and face, the same engine accepts GPS punches restricted to a geo-fence around site, branch, or client locations, site-specific QR codes and PIN fallback for contractors and visitors, Mifare and EM RFID card readers at gate, lift, or production-floor entry, and Wi-Fi-only punching locked to your office SSID or static IP range. Custom biometric vendors, turnstiles, and access-control gates push punches over REST and webhooks, and the system normalises them into one ledger.

Real-time sync, geo-fence rules, and alerts
Punches stream to the HRMS dashboard within 30 seconds of the device read. No nightly batch jobs. Combine GPS geo-fence, Wi-Fi SSID, and static-IP whitelisting so punches only happen from approved locations. Late arrival, early exit, missed punch, mismatch, and out-of-geo alerts push to the manager and the employee in real time, and the roster engine handles rotational, night, split, and flexi shifts with weekly offs and holidays rolled into the attendance maths.
Built for India's biometric reality
Patchy networks are the norm, not the exception. When the network drops at the device, punches buffer locally and sync when it returns, and the original punch time is preserved, not the sync time. The mobile app does the same for offline punches. Loss-of-pay days for unmarked attendance are computed automatically and reflected in the next payslip without intervention.
Audit trail and DPDP compliance
Every punch carries device ID, IP, geo, and timestamp, and edits need a reason and an approver, so the trail stands up to ISO and statutory audits. Regularisation requests are logged with the user and reason, and inspectors can pull the same audit trail. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, biometric templates are stored encrypted, access is role-gated, and data deletion on employee exit is supported. Raw fingerprint and face images are never stored, only one-way encoded templates, and the face encoding stays on the device with just the match result sent to the server. At month-end, days present, LOP, late deductions, and overtime flow straight into the payroll engine with no CSV between systems.
