Labour Law Compliance Software for Indian Employers
Labour compliance in India is not one law but a stack: your state's Shops and Establishments Act, the four labour codes (in force since 21 November 2025), PF and ESI, professional tax in 21 states, POSH, Maternity Benefit, and contract labour rules if you use contractors. Each has registers, returns, and deadlines. Compliance software exists because no HR team can keep that stack current by hand across even two states.
Registers that write themselves
The muster roll is your attendance register. The wage register is your payroll. The overtime register is your shift data. Indian HRM generates the Shops & Establishment register and exports attendance and payroll registers from the live data it already holds, so an inspection request becomes an export, not an archaeology project. Registrations and licences (S&E, PF, ESI, contract labour) sit in a tracker with expiry alerts.
The labour codes layer
The codes moved compliance from an annual filing problem to a payroll-structure problem. The 50% wage rule impact can be modelled per employee before you restructure (model it here). F&F is computed at exit against the Wage Code's 2-working-day deadline. Appointment letter coverage is tracked per employee. The labour codes guide covers what changed; the software makes each change a rule, not a memo.
Compliance calendar and risk view
Monthly PF ECR by the 15th, ESI by the 15th, PT per state schedule, quarterly and annual returns, POSH annual report in January. The built-in compliance calendar tracks the dates against your actual filings, and the compliance risk check grades your current exposure in eight questions. Both are free, whether or not you buy the software.
